Spiral Savory Pie Recipe of 31-07-2015 [Updated on 04-10-2017]
The spiral savory pie is another of the Facebook group's smash recipes. It is a simple one savoury cake (with vegetables, meats, cheeses ... whatever you prefer!) in which the ingredients are cut into thin slices and arranged in a spiral, interspersed with strips of puff pastry between one layer and another, with a very spectacular effect, as it is a beautiful spiral design. You can do this rustic with the ingredients of your choice, it really lends itself to many variations, and the end result will always be mind-blowing, especially if you use brightly colored ingredients! For example, I used bright red fresh cherry tomatoes, alternating with cooked ham and cheese, and the result was a really delicious quiche, as well as beautiful to look at;)
That's all for today, I'll leave you with the recipe and go to work a little more in the kitchen: I still have a couple of ideas to experiment before declaring the week over: *
How to make spiral savory pie
Lightly roll out a roll of puff pastry, place it on the mold (lined with parchment paper) and cut the excess dough along the edges, then prick the bottom with the prongs of a fork.
Make strips about 2 cm wide from the remaining pastry.
Cut the ingredients of the filling (in my case cherry tomatoes, cooked ham and soft cheese) into slices.
Then start filling the savory pie.
I started with the ham: create a circle of slices of ham along the inside edges of the cake.
Place a few strips of puff pastry on the ham, until they cover the entire circumference.
Continue with the cheese, again the pastry and then the cherry tomatoes.
Continue alternating the filling and the pastry, in concentric circles, always in the same order, until the entire base of the pastry is covered. I concluded with a ball made from the advanced dough.
Season with salt, pepper and a drizzle of oil, then brush the quiche with a little milk.
Then bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C (I cooked in a convection oven) and bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
